What to look for in a first meeting?

The first meeting implies no obligation and is totally free. The objective is to determine the goals and expectations of the investor in order to establish a pleasant and solid relationship. It also allows him to learn more about our firm, our services, our working methodology and our infrastructure. It helps us determine if we will be able to meet your expectations.

How my money will be protected?

TD Canada Trust acts as trustee for all our registered plans, and, as such, the amounts held in cash for these accounts are protected by the deposit insurance of Canada (SADC) Corporation. Thus, all deposits are immediately transferred to our trustee to proceed with the transactions. PEAK Securities Inc. is not the property of TD Bank and remains completely independent, it is also a member of the Canadian Investor Protection Fund (CIPF).

PEAK Financial Group divisions are subject to an annual audit on the part of the various agencies of the Canada regulation. An external audit of the books and records is performed by an independent firm each year. In addition, insurance protecting against the loss of titles and internal computer fraud is underwritten.

Which tools are available to follow my investments?

Each transaction has to be approved by the investor and a written confirmation is sent by mail, thereafter. Every month, clients receive a portfolio statement by mail, as well. In addition, each client has the possibility to view his statement on the Internet as often as he wants using a secure connection.

How does an independent financial advisor work?

An independent financial advisor offers no in-house financial products and is free to recommend the solution that best suits the client. Whether the advisor’s compensation is commission or fee based, the investor does not have to pay a surplus resulting of this independence. Rather than going internally, his remuneration is simply redirected externally to him. In other words, dealing with an independent advisor, does not cost more.
